How to dress this New Year’s Eve
Here are some useful suggestions depending on what kind of New Year’s Eve you will celebrate. At home with friends or family, somewhere elegant or informal, on vacation in the mountains etc…you’ll find the right ideas here!
At home with friends and family
Choose a jacket paired with a pocket square and not too sporty shoes. This outfit will also be perfect for the traditional family lunch.

How to correctly put the pocket square in the jacket pocket
If you prefer casual style, choose to wear a vest by pairing it with an accessory, such as a tie and your usual jeans.
Denim, best dark. The shoe? Leather, lace-up and shiny. Leather belt that echoes the shoes. An important watch on the wrist.
As an alternative to a shirt, choose a turtleneck sweater that can also be worn under a jacket, or a patterned sweater with reindeer and ice crystals, which are worn again and again.
Velvet is also perfect for an elegant New Year’s Eve with family or friends. A great classic that never wanes.
If you want to be super stylish, but also particular, combine the rigor of this full-bodied fabric with a pair of slim-cut pants and finish the outfit with a nice pair of colored braces, perhaps in the same pattern as the pocket square that you can slip into the pocket of your jacket.
Or choose to complete the look by wrapping a fine wool scarf around your neck.
Elegant evening
First of all, be sure not to get confused with the office look! Rather, an elegant evening out involves a dark suit to be paired with Oxford-style lace-ups. Or, a tuxedo or tailcoat, in case the dress code is Black tie, in the former case, or, White Tie, in the latter.
For a dressy, but more casual evening, have fun using fancy elements, such as a plaid shirt, a spirited slim bespoke tie, a red bow tie etc.
